The gift of giving...

For as long as I can remember, people have always ask for artwork from me and the toughest ones to satisfy are my family members. Once I get around to giving art away, I turn around and see that it's been 10 years! Now I have to draw new art for everyone! Ha! As much as I'd like to give updated illustrations to everyone, I can never quite find enough time.

This one in particular was made for my best friend, Anais. I've known her since she we were little girls and the last pic I drew for her was about 8 years ago. She still has it framed in her room.
Recently, she has been asking for a new pic and I haven't got around to doing one so I thought the holidays would be the perfect time to give her one. It's softly ifluenced by the art of Alphonse Mucha and it's an image of Anais and her daughter Scarlett. I thought it would be tough to capture their image in a nice pose but it came to me rather easily. Love makes it easy.
Note: Any family members reading this: I'll get around to your pic soon cuz I love you all too! ;__;

Hard Listening

This weekend I was visiting Becky, and we were talking about rap music. Yes, out of all things... So she then asks if I've ever heard a song called Dance With the Devil, by Immortal Technique. Upon replying "no," she puts the song on for me to listen to. One word to describe it, 'intense.' While listening to it I felt as if he was yelling in face, telling me a story I didn't want to hear, in full detail. Yup, pretty intense. So intense in fact I drew this one panel comic.
Thanks Becky.
