I posted my "Ginger" pic over at figure.fm and it wasn't much to the liking of the fans. Everyone there seems to be into a specific anime/manga style called "Moe." Honestly, I thought I knew what it was and decided to try another shot at drawing a pic for that site. I guess I get a little competitive and wanted to see if i could draw this "Moe" style. After much struggling and many attempts I came up with this design; Luna. Cute, but not "Moe" enough. I don't think I'll ever understand it. XD

Great drawing! The people you're targeting sound too otaku to appreciate how awesome your designs are.
My understanding of Moe is that it typically means some inanimate object anthropomorphized into an oddly sexualized underaged girl. It can be cute but the characters are usually too innocent for me to find sexy, while yours appear more mature.
I'm hard pressed to not like this gal you've designed here. I've got no problems with the cute appeal that she has here, but if the hot babe you designed before isn't what the masses wanted, and this cutie was passed over it's clear that the folks voting on the other end have spoken. That and they're clearly out of their minds.
Hey guys! Thanks for your honesty. I drew it to see if I can understand the appeal but the more I tried to draw this "moe" face the less human it felt to me. O__O
